Coastal Cruising

One of the main attractions to windsurfing is the speed and the challenge which comes from sailing the fastest type of sailing boat in the world.

Sailing boats are designed to sail from point A to point B but most windsurfers are content to tame the beast and fly accross the wind all day, however we live in St Brides Bay and spend our blasts going somewhere.

Big Blue Windsurfing hopes to encourage all UK windsurfers to visit the coast through a dedicated coastal awareness sailing scheme.

This scheme involves windsurfing around St Brides Bay in Pembrokeshire assisted by our instructors and a Zapcat as rescue cover. The cruises vary depending on the weather conditions. A basic cruise will involve a long downwind sail across St Brides Bay. A more challenging cruise would involve circumnavigating St Brides Bay!! The zap cat is the ideal rescue boat as it can maintain a similar boat speed to a windsurfer in rough seas.
